Frequently Asked Questions

We serve Washington, D.C., Montgomery County, Prince George’s County, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Baltimore County, Baltimore City, Harford County, and parts of Northern Virginia.

There’s no right or wrong time to book! You can reach out to us at any point during your pregnancy. However, we recommend contacting us as early as possible to ensure availability. We also do our best to accommodate last-minute due dates when possible.

Payment for services is required at the time of booking, either in full or with a partial payment, depending on the service. While we don’t bill insurance directly, we’re happy to provide an itemized invoice to help you seek reimbursement from your provider.

We ask that clients provide a flat surface for the doula to rest, such as a sofa or bed, when possible.

Yes, we can provide awake care for your newborn during overnight shifts. Typically, our team tends to the baby’s needs throughout the night and rests if the baby is asleep and all responsibilities have been met. If you prefer a team member to remain awake for the entire shift, even when the baby is sleeping, we’re happy to accommodate this at a premium rate. Please note that awake care requires the family to provide a separate area and a baby monitor for the team member.

During in-home sleep consultations, we’re happy to assist with feeding and washing or sanitizing any feeding supplies used during the night. However, we do not provide other household duties during these consultations.

After your 30-minute consultation, you’ll receive a link to verify your insurance. If eligible, there will be no out-of-pocket cost, and our IBCLC will contact you directly to schedule your visit.

Absolutely! If a relative, friend, or co-worker would like to contribute to your postpartum care, we can include them on the invoice to make payment arrangements.

Yes! Our overnight perinatal care is just as comprehensive as daytime support. At the start of the shift, we focus on education and demonstration, covering topics like diaper changes, swaddling, and bath time. We can also handle light tasks such as changing linens, prepping fruits and veggies, or setting up your coffee maker for the morning. Throughout the night, we provide feeding and lactation support, as well as conversation and companionship if desired.

We’re happy to provide support while family and friends are visiting. If you’d like to reschedule a shift, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance. Shifts are scheduled within the first week postpartum, and rescheduling is subject to team availability.
